THE PNA TEAM

Illia Moore, Executive Director
Mr. Illia Moore graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1992 and began
his successful career with children as a part-time staff member at the Boys and
Girls Club. Within two weeks, he was promoted to Program Director.
He went on to teach Conflict Mediation at Lockeland Middle School and when the
PNA program started there, he was the ideal choice for Site Director. In
1998, he became involved with PNA on a full-time basis as the Assistant Project
Director. After serving in this capacity for four years, he was promoted
to Executive Director in 2002.
Mr. Moore's passion for helping children realize their full potential and
their personal self-worth is contagious. His vision and experience provide
a solid foundation of leadership for PNA where "The Kids Come First." Mr.
Moore and his wife, Dorothy live with their children, Skylar and Illia, in
Nolensville. You

Sandy Johns,
Director of Finance and Business
Administration
Sandy Johns has been involved with PNA since
2002. Having graduated from Kennesaw State University in 1996 with a
degree in Communications, Sandy’s career has taken her in a path unforeseen as a
college kid. While working for her father’s radio stations as a young adult, she learned the
ins and outs of financial management and bookkeeping. From A/P to A/R to
financial reporting, she learned accounting from “shoe leather” experience. And she loved it!
After trying out the music business upon moving to Nashville, finally at the age
of 27, she found her long-term career path, putting her natural abilities and
her developed skills in accounting and financial analysis to work for PNA. Now
in her thirties, she finds herself back in college, taking accounting courses at
Tennessee State University with the goal of becoming a Certified Public
Accountant. Sandy has found deep meaning in her work at PNA. Not only does she
enjoy her daily responsibilities, but she also very much values that her work
directly benefits children and families.
In her spare time, Sandy
enjoys books, movies, music, NFL football, technology, and real estate. Sandy
loves Nashville and is excited to be part of a socially and culturally progressive city. She is a proud resident of Davidson County.

Sharon Travis,
Founder and Chair of the PNA Board
Long retired from secondary teaching, Mrs. Travis was active as a volunteer
in each school attended by her children. In 1996 she chaired the Tying
Nashville Together team that developed the Project for Neighborhood
Aftercare (PNA). This small, diligent group spent more than a year doing
research and meeting with principals and other administrators,
councilpersons, other childcare providers, anyone who would listen to their
vision of a neighborhood afterschool program.
Now chair of the PNA
Board of Directors, Mrs. Travis continues to work for affordable aftercare for
Nashville's children. Life outside of PNA revolves around her family: husband,
son, daughter, son-in-law, grandkids Benjamin and Evy, and a very spoiled bulldog.
You may contact her at
